REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Defended a fish-processing company in a half-billion dollar antitrust class action law suit; the case resolved with the plaintiffs dropping all damages claims.
Represented a national law firm in a $20 million fee dispute with its former client in a case involving claims for breach of contract, violation of ethical standards, and arbitrability. The case settled on highly favorable terms shortly before the arbitration hearing.
Represented insurance broker at trial on claims of breach of contract and negligence seeking $3 million for failing to procure appropriate insurance, as well as third-party claim for indemnification against wholesale broker. The case settled on favorable terms.
Obtained a $1 million jury verdict for a business broker whose client failed to pay the broker’s commission.
Represented buyer of distressed mortgages in over $900,000 dispute with seller and seller’s lender over title to the mortgages. After extensive litigation, the seller and lender both agreed our client owned the mortgages.
Represented scrap metal recycling firm bringing claim for breach of output contract, seeking $675,000 against successor to original contracting party. The case settled on favorable terms.
Represented freight broker in defense of Carmack Amendment claim brought by shipper after shipper’s goods were damaged in transit, resulting in litigation involving four parties and an insurer. The case settled on favorable terms.
Represented business owners in numerous disputes involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty by our clients’ co-owners, resulting in numerous favorable settlements.
Defeated mechanic’s lien claims against two aircraft on summary judgment.
